About Sustainable Prosperity Initiative Nepal

Sustainable Prosperity Initiative Nepal (SPI Nepal) is a Kathmandu-based development consulting and climate action organization, located in the Baneshwor area of Kathmandu. It is a professional policy, research, and project implementation firm working mainly in the fields of climate change, clean energy, and sustainable development. Originally established in 2001 (earlier known as Sansthagat Bikas Consultancy Kendra – SBCK), SPI Nepal focuses on development consulting, institutional strengthening, and public policy support, especially for government agencies and development partners. The organization’s main work revolves around clean cooking programs, carbon finance, and energy transition initiatives, including projects related to voluntary carbon markets and climate mitigation strategies in Nepal.
