About Shanti Yoga Ashram

We offer a peaceful, serene and green ashram setting in the foothills of the Himalayas where residents and guests can absorb the true and authentic essence of yoga. We are perfectly equipped with all the means and knowledge you need to advance on the yogic path including a state of the art yoga hall with a picturesque 360 degree view of the great Himalayas. We offer a variety of yoga courses and retreats that gives you the possibility to gain knowledge and experience yoga in all its depth. Also, you will experience Nepali culture and enjoy being part of an ancient science and a deep rooted yoga community. Our teachers are highly experienced, living the yogic life for many years; so the experience you will get here is authentic and life-changing. Guru ​Yogi Prakash, the founder and chairman of Shanti Yoga Ashram, began studying yoga at the age of 12. In 1997 he went to India where he completed a teacher training certificate course at Bihar Yoga University and was initiated by Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati. ​Returning to Nepal, the land of Tantra, he deepened his knowledge by studying Kundalini and Tantra Yoga with Swami Shivalingam for the next twelve years. In the last few years Yogi Prakash has been teaching throughout Europe, the U.S. and India. Furthermore, with the intention of making Tantra Yoga available in the West, he has established Shanti Yoga Ashram U.S.A., a non-profit organization dedicated to sharing this profound wisdom. His mission is to preserve the ancient teachings in their pure form and to spread this light of Tantra throughout the world. He secured the first rank in the First World Youth Cup Yog Contest organized by Yog Federation of Asia. Besides the ashram, Guru Prakash founded The Divine Yoga School, a gurukul which provides underprivileged children with free education.
