About PUPPET

Puppet is a term that can refer to handmade or movable figures controlled by strings, hands, or rods, commonly used in storytelling, performance art, education, and entertainment. In Nepal and many other cultures, puppets are part of traditional folk performance as well as modern creative industries. In the cultural sense, puppets are often used in theater and storytelling, where performers animate figures to act out stories, myths, or social messages. In Nepal, traditional puppetry (known as Putali Nach or marionette performance) has historical roots in the Kathmandu Valley, especially among Newar communities, where wooden and string-controlled puppets are used in cultural performances and festivals.
