About Okharbot Organic Farm

Okharbot Organic Farm is a regenerative permaculture farm located about 40 km east of Kathmandu, between Dhulikhel and Namobuddha in Kavre district. It is known for its sustainable farming approach, where fruits, vegetables, cereals, and herbs are grown using natural and chemical-free methods in harmony with the local ecosystem. The farm spans a few hectares of terraced land surrounded by forest and hills, featuring a mix of orchards, vegetable gardens, and agroforestry systems. It follows a circular, zero-waste model where composting, livestock integration, and soil regeneration are key parts of its farming practice. Okharbot also functions as an agro-tourism and learning destination. Visitors can walk through the fields, experience farm-to-table meals, participate in farm activities, and even stay overnight in eco-friendly rammed-earth buildings made from local materials. The farm is also known for using solar energy and natural water filtration systems, making it a model for sustainable rural living in Nepal.
