Indian Restaurant
NH 44 Indian is located at 219 East Hartsdale Ave in Hartsdale, New York. It's named after National Highway 44, India's longest highway, spanning 11 states and 2,555 miles from the country's northernmost to southernmost tips. The restaurant was opened by Jeevan Pullan, a native of India better known in Westchester for his successful Mexican restaurants VEGA and Tako, who had long wanted to showcase the cuisine of his homeland and move beyond old-school staples like chicken tikka masala and saag paneer to represent a broader range of Indian cooking. The space features vibrant murals inspired by Indian trucks, designed by Thida Kongthai, giving it a colorful, casual, street-culture atmosphere that its owners call the first of its kind in Westchester County. The menu ranges from succulent kebabs to rich curries and popular street vendor foods to more exotic dishes, using traditional Indian spices, alongside a selection of premium beers and wines. Standout dishes include tandoori murgh, chicken tikka masala, saag, and various biryanis. NH 44 is part of a small restaurant group that also includes Jaipore Royal Indian Cuisine, Jaipore Express, and the Mexican concepts VEGA and Tako.
