About Nepal Injury Research Centre

Nepal Injury Research Centre (NIRC) is a public health research organization based in Duwakot, Bhaktapur, Nepal, operating within Kathmandu Medical College (KMC). It was established as part of an international collaboration between Nepali researchers and the University of the West of England (UWE), UK, with funding support from the UK’s National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). The centre focuses on studying injury prevention and control in Nepal, including road traffic accidents, home injuries, workplace injuries, and disaster-related trauma such as earthquakes and landslides. Its main goal is to generate evidence that can improve public health policies, emergency response systems, and road safety regulations.
