About Nepal Agriculture Research Council

Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) is the national apex agricultural research organization of Nepal, headquartered at Singha Durbar Plaza, Kathmandu. It was established in 1991 under the Nepal Agricultural Research Council Act as an autonomous government body responsible for conducting scientific research in agriculture across the country. NARC’s main role is to develop and improve agricultural technologies that help increase crop production, livestock productivity, and overall food security in Nepal. It conducts research on areas such as cereals, horticulture, livestock, fisheries, soil science, plant breeding, agroforestry, and agricultural economics, and works through multiple research centers spread across different ecological regions of the country.
