Mithila Thali by Chef Santosh Shah is a renowned themed restaurant in Janakpurdham, Province No. 2, Nepal, created by celebrated Nepali chef Chef Santosh Shah (known internationally from MasterChef: The Professionals). It focuses on authentic Mithila cuisine and cultural dining experiences, celebrating the rich food heritage of the Mithila region. At this restaurant, you can enjoy a traditional Mithila thali, which typically includes a large array of regional dishes such as rice, seasonal vegetables, taruwa, chokha, tilauri, ghee roti, chutneys, and local preparations that reflect centuries‑old culinary traditions of Mithila. The space itself is decorated with Mithila art and cultural motifs, offering an immersive experience of the local culture alongside the food. Chef Santosh Shah launched the first Mithila Thali in Janakpur in June 2023 as part of his mission to promote Mithila cuisine across Nepal and beyond.
