Martin Chautari is a non-profit research and public discussion organization based in Thapathali, Kathmandu, Nepal. It was originally formed in 1991 as an informal discussion group where academics, researchers, and social activists met regularly to talk about issues related to Nepali society, development, politics, and culture. Over time, it developed into a formal institution (registered in 2002) and became one of Nepal’s most respected platforms for public dialogue, academic research, and knowledge production. It is widely known for hosting regular seminars, talks, and discussions on topics such as democracy, media, education, governance, social justice, and development.
