KK & K Liquor Shop was a prominent liquor retail operation in Kathmandu, known for its connection to the Federation of Liquor Associations of Nepal. The business operated under the leadership of the federation's president, Rajan KC, and his brother Anil KC, and included a gallery, store, and warehouse located in the Chunikhel area of Budhanilkantha Municipality-13, as well as a store in the Basundhara neighborhood of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-3. However, the shop gained significant public attention in May 2024 when it was raided and subsequently sealed by the Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) over serious allegations of tax evasion. The raid was prompted by intelligence from the Armed Police Force, leading authorities to seize accounting records, store documents, and electronic devices as part of their investigation into the illegal storage of millions of rupees worth of foreign and local liquor brands. This incident marked a notable moment in Nepal's ongoing efforts to regulate the alcohol industry and enforce tax compliance.
